A Tampa night draws from Tampa: Downtown and Channelside, Hyde Park and South Tampa, Seminole Heights, Westshore, and the northern suburbs down I-275 and out I-4. A St. Pete night draws from Pinellas: downtown St. Pete and Central Avenue, Kenwood, Gulfport, and up the county toward Clearwater and the beaches. If you want a second date to be realistic on a weeknight, pick the side you actually live on.
The two vibes
Tampa nights tend to be a little more after-work: people coming from Westshore offices or downtown, dressed for the day they just had. St. Pete nights are a little more neighbourhood, a little more walkable, and skew toward people who chose to live near the water on purpose. Neither is better. They are just different rooms.
When crossing the bridge is worth it
If your age range is not on the calendar on your side this month, cross. If you have already met most of the people who come out on your side, cross.
